The West Coast Great Teachers Seminar June 20-23, 2011

The Retreat Experience of a Lifetime for Post-Secondary Faculty:

If you are interested in enhancing your teaching and in achieving more effective learning for your students, then this seminar is for you. Regardless of whether you teach full-time or part-time or if you are an experienced teacher or new to teaching: this seminar welcomes you. The West Coast Great Teachers Seminar is possible because of the financial support of the CCFA PD Fund and the fee is considered a pre-approved activity and covered by in-house funding. This means that a CCFA member’s short term PD allocation is not impacted.  Enrolment is limited to 24 registrants.

Dates:  10:00 am Monday, June 20th to 2:00pm Thursday, June 23rd, 2011

Location:  Honeymoon Bay Retreat Centre, Honeymoon Bay (near Lake Cowichan)

Cost:  $656 plus HST

Registration: Register on-line through CE   Please click here for instructions and payment procedures

Goals of the Seminar:

  • To celebrate good teaching;
  • To inspire faculty to venture beyond the limits of their own specializations and environments in search of transferable ideas and the universals of teaching;
  • To discover realistic, creative approaches to teaching and learning;
  • To promote introspection and self-appraisal by providing a supportive environment in which participants may seriously reflect on their attitudes, methods and behaviours as teachers;
  • To stimulate the exchange of information and ideas by building an expanding network of communication among teachers in higher education; and
  • To renew the commitment to student learning.
